I was going to post about this song (and the great EP it comes from) the moment I first laid ears on it (which I discovered via Bandcamp Hunter’s stream on exfm), as I was not only super excited to see that there was some new Shakey Graves music out on the interwebs, but also because the tracks were so great. I mean, how awesome is this live cut of Dusty Lion? But I was fairly busy at the time so I figured I would just post about it a little later. What harm could that do?
Cut to today and I can no longer share the link to where you can get it for yourself, because the EP was only available for a limited time as a way to celebrate Shakey Graves day. So I apologize for my tardiness (for those of you who are listening to this track and wishing you could have it on your listening device) and am thankful that I downloaded the EP as soon as I heard about it (it is a great mix of live and unreleased tracks, and I guess you’ll just have to take my word for it).
I guess the moral of the story is to check in with Shakey Graves tumblr (or Facebook) on a regular basis so you don’t miss out on any opportunity to get / hear his always stellar tunes. To help ease the pain of missing out on the EP, you can still get the brilliant Roll The Bones (for whatever price you fancy).
