Flight Feathers • In the Darkness of My Night
Do you remember The Elected? More specifically, do you remember The Elected’s album ‘Sun, Sun, Sun’? Well, I do. It’s always been one of my favourite albums, although I’ve always been conflicted with it. It is not that I’m some sort of hard nosed member of a biker gang, but I’ve always found that album to be on the verge of sounding ‘too weak’. Not weak as in ‘bad’ or ‘lame’, but weak as in ‘not strong’. And listening to it out loud always made me fearful of people thinking that I was not strong. Which is weak.
Anyways, I love that album. I love it because it is great, and I think it walks the fine line between being emotionally annoying and emotionally enjoying perfectly (i.e. it walks on the right side of it). And Flight Feathers ‘In The Darkness of My Night’ reminds me of it. There is a definite frailty to it, but only in the good way. Will you ever hear it playing in a biker bar? No. But how often do you hang out in a biker bar?
I downloaded the album months ago, but it is just recently that I’ve been finding it on constant repeat. And you too can have it on repeat, for whatever price you want.
