There is an earnest charm to Doug Hoyer’s music, and Snow Bank (featuring the always great Jessica Jalbert) is a perfect example of that fact. A nostalgic look back on a first kiss between two close friends and the complex feelings that such an event evokes. It’s something that almost everyone can relate to, and if you are like me, you can also relate to falling asleep in a snow bank. Except when I was pulled out of the snow bank, it did not end in a romantic kiss. Just a long stint of vomiting alone in the only bathroom at an underage house party, interrupted every now and again when someone needed to wee. Oh sweet memories of youth.
Snow Bank is being released now as free single, but it originally comes off of Dougs great LP ‘Walks with the Tender and Growing Night' (although this single version is slightly shorter).
